Deets: The first time I went skiing, I was 15 years old. A 20-year-old youth group guide helped me put on skis, get to the top of the mountain, and then said “go.” I didn’t ski again until my 30s. And maybe once a year. It just wasn’t clicking. This year, I bought my own ski gear, bought the Rocky Mountain Ski Pass, and decided, this is the year I’m going to master skiing! We started at Eldora. I felt good, but not great. Eldora has fairly short green runs. We ventured out to Winter Park – a great place for greens! The second time I was at Winter Park, I found myself bored and decided to try a blue. I loved it! Our next ski trip was to Steamboat Springs for Martin Luther King Jr Weekend. We spent four days skiing Steamboat in awesome powder. I finally found my “stride.” At the top of the mountain, we found the best homemade chicken pot pie my tasted buds have ever encountered! Paired, of course, with a beer to wash it down.
